Main Fare:

• Brisket - dry, tender, tasteless
• Ribs - Not quite rendered, good flavor
• Sausage - Greasy Eckeridge style

Other Fare:

• Hot BBQ Sauce - Too spicy, not good
• Standard BBQ Sauce - Nice, spicy, smoky flavor
• Slaw - just okay
• Potato Salad - funky flavor
• Mac Salad - really good
• Pinto Beans - no flavor
• BBQ Beans - tasted burnt
• Peach Cobbler - Tasted sour and turned or spoiled

Atmosphere:

• Red Roofed Shack, Dead animals and Indian in dining area, place was deserted at 5:30pm.  Not a good sign.

First joint I've seen across the street from a funeral home.  The help is nice, and the place looks like fun, but all is quiet when we roll up late in the afternoon.  Brisket was a 2 minute chew, ribs tasted good but were undercooked (probably pulled early from the supper batch).  Sides had issues: stadium nacho cheese in the macaroni and the peach cobbler earned my first 0 of the tour.

MAIN FARE

• Rib - Best tasting rib of the day.  A bit of a conundrum here:  It is a bit dry (as if overcooked), however the meat doesn't come easily off the bone.  Maybe cooked a little too hot & fast?
• Brisket - is moist on the plate.  Fatty is falling apart... However, you somehow you can't chew through this stuff.  Lean is worse.
• Sausage - Eckrich.

OTHER FARE

• Potato Salad - Salty.
• Cole Slaw - is very good. Creamy sauce with a vinegar tang, and a bit of spice on the finish.
• Pintos - Plain.
• Baked Beans - Chili beans made into baked -- doesn't work for me.
• Sauce - Heavy worchestershire.
• Hot sauce - Chili spices with plenty-o-kick.
• They serve true Texas Toast here -- that's a bonus!

ATMOSPHERE

• This place has a "drive-up" feel to it... I almost expect waitresses on roller skates to come out and take my order.
• They do have a drive-thru window
• Eclectic interior; a hodge-podge of different rooms, each with a separate look & feel.
• Been here for 34 years - "Dad" opened in 1975
