If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
bkarau's Review of The Swinging Door
Weighted Overall
- Atmosphere: Looks like a joint. Multiple smokestacks. Pecan grove across street. Gravel lot. Ramshackle building with slab floor. Swinging door root beer. BUT: Quaint stagecoach sign, table service, plates, and large aTm signs everywhere
- Sauce: Worsterchire, Boyardee, and cayenne
- Beans: Pintos: Ranch style. Large onion chunks
- Coleslaw: Raisins. Bland
- Potato Salad: Very eggy with too much mayo
- Sausage: Bland and moderate. Good texture
- Spare Rib: Overcooked. Great bark, though
- Brisket: Great bark, good flavor and ring. Firm and moist, but not too tender. A bit too tough
