There's not much point in complaining about high-tech barbecue. It serves a purpose, and it's here to stay. And no doubt the quality of it will keep on improving. But as the old barbecue joints slowly disappear, each one that remains becomes a bigger treasure.
bsinger's Review of Lyndons Pit BBQ
Weighted Overall
- Overall: I used to live a mile from this place for two years and I never even knew it existed. Now I understand why. Good napkins.
- Pulled Pork: good, but something lacked in the taste of it. Wasn't too sure if I 'melts in your mouth, not in your hands' texture.
- Spare Rib: It's a rib grab bag! each rib was different to me. weird.
- Coleslaw: Red potato, nice to see something a little different.
- Coleslaw: Wrong answer, try again. KFC's slaw would kick this slaw's ass anyday (and that isn't saying too much).
- Sauce: Flavor is good, but doesn't have any kind of kick to set it apart.
- Atmosphere: I just walked into a T.G.I. Fridays that sells BBQ. Not really into the whole strip center thing. It's clean, so that's a plus.
- Brisket: Okay brisket, not fatty, no big flavor to it.
