jlandwermeyer's Review of The Swinging Door
Weighted Overall
- Plus: Fresh, soft French bread, just like Mom used to make.
- Beans: Ranch style beans w/ onions and pepper. Basic bachelor food: I don't have to go out to eat for this stuff.
- Potato Salad: You may want to call this 'Egg-Potato Salad.' But I like it!
- Coleslaw: For all you Raisenaphobes...beware: thar's raisens in this here 'slaw!
- Sausage: Moist and tender, but not spicey enough for this Texan
- Beef Rib: Meat falls off of the bone, and was tasty, but tough.
- Brisket: Moist and tender, but firm. This was the best item.
- Sauce: tangy sause w/ Worcestershire flavor
- Atmosphere: 1970's motife is fully intact. Cheesy stained-glass frames hang over windows, 'wooden' sheet paneling covers the walls. There may be antiques hanging on the walls in this joint...in about 10 years.
