I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.

  • Atmosphere: 3rd Generation; Richard Lopez has been there 43 years; He stays open late to accomodate our late arrival, and provides a great tour of his place. On the square in downtown Gonzales.
  • Lamb: Lamb ribs have a very gamey 'funk' to them... just not right.
  • Sausage: These links are beefy... made with just a little pork for good sausage flavor. Very nice!
  • Brisket: GREAT! Thick sliced pieces; smokey - mild; nice meat flavor.
  • Spare Rib: Smokey; great flavor. Meat is not pulling off the bone, but is tender & juicy. Salty.
  • Sides: PS - good. Beans - these are stand-out good... even at closing time! Soft with good depth of flavor.
